Paint Party Friday, week 34, year 2 #12

First of all I have to say I have much empaty
with you people
on the east coast of the USA

I painted this some days before I heard of the ugly storm Sandy
It happens sometimes with me
drawing or taking photos of things
that actually can be compared in some way
to what is going to happen
afterwards
without me knowing

Here are two things I wanted to try
water drops on face
and a 3D painting with the hand in front

She is sitting on the beach
by the small waves
reaching a hand out
to say "Stop"
but now
I rather hear
she is saying
 "Beware"

in front my cactus

Now I associate only
with the storm
before it comes

However
back to the original
the time I painted it
it was fun
but the drops are too big on the face, I know
but I sort of wanted to try
I found it difficult to draw smaller drops
so -
I should have drawn a bigger face then ;)

She is beautiful- I like the droplet size on her face- it makes more of a statement to me with them larger! Happy PPF!

Kjempeflott Viola!

This is beautiful. I like the drops large. It emphasizes the feeling more. I also like the dark outlines. Really dramatic.

Lovely painting Viola! Very eery this painting, how you had a premonition and it came out in your artwork.
I'm glad people like you are thinking of us here in the NE of the U.S.

I posted no artwork today, I felt I had to say something about what is going on in my hometown, state and other states in the U.S.

So much devastation, sadness, despair. I know we will get through this but I can't help but feel the pain of so many.

Thank you for sharing your art and intuitive vision with us.

Very strong painting Viola! You brought out her figure really well, and I don't think the waterdrops are too big on her face ... The impact is much bigger this way.

She has such appeal - you did a great job on the water droplets! The painting makes one think - and that is the goal of art I think

Very interesting that you were moved to paint a water drenched woman without even realizing the storm was coming. Spooky!

such a wonderful and timely piece! the water drops are dramatic and tell a story, a mix of water and sadness. Love the body language and unique stance you have her in! Really a joy to see.

Hi Viola,
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog about the hurricane. I'm so stunned by how many people sent their love and concern for me in emails and on my blog. So sweet and I'm glad that people like you are looking after us. Thank you!

Hi Viola... thank you so much for your beautiful comment... I couldn't find your email... and your return address on your comment is no reply blogger so thought I would leave my answer to your question here...

I have been using the liquidtex inks which have eye droppers in them... so no matter what ink I use now... I just unscrew the lid and use the eye dropper in it... much more control and if you want the drip to go in a specific place... then run the dropper down the page as you go... but... oh... it is so addictive...lol

Looking forward to seeing some luscious drips...
